Slow down and enjoy the ride!
This morning while reading the posts I noticed a lot of anger over the proxy errors here on Active Rain. It caused me to write a quick post about patience (or lack of it) and after I had posted I started to think about the other areas in our lives where we were lacking that virtue. Things like riding behind someone enjoying the scenery while we are pressed to get to our next appointment or sitting in a drive through cussing out someone three cars up for not knowing what they wanted before pulling up to order. Even here on Active Rain as no one wants to read the posts that go over 5 lines. No matter how good they are if we have to read too much we move on to shorter ones. Things like waiting for a return call on your cell phone, where not so long ago you had to wait until you reached your destination to call on a land line. We all get angry with our clients when they move on if they haven't heard back from us in the ten minutes it takes to eat dinner. Dinner...what used to take hours to cook better be done in 60 seconds in the microwave or we are hotter than our meal. Patience with our kids, our neighbors, our co-workers is all diminishing at an alarming rate. We are all racing to get to a place that time doesn't matter. Try and slow down and enjoy today for what it is. Saturday.
As always if you think the Big Rapids area is a place you would like to live give us a call (231) 796-5253 or check out either link below and we will help you find a house so the Big Rapids area can be your home too. Thanks for reading.

Randy,
I could not agree with you more. Stop take taime and smell the roses. Everything is not a race. We all need to stop and take a look, we need to enjoy... Thanks for the post. I have been talking quite a bit on the same subject lately.

Especially over the holiday weekend, people need to relax and chill out!
Hi Randy, Thanks for the reminder that we sometimes need to slow down a little bit. Some of our little issues like proxy errors are not that important to be impatient over. One of my pet peeves is seeing someone racing on the highway driving fast & recklessly to get somewhere in a hurry, while in the meantime they are practically running everyone else off the road and risking their lives as well as their own. Just not worth it.
Thanks for the post --- I agree - Have a great weekend!
Smelling the roses or enjoying a sunset is one thing. Proxy errors and idiots who waste my time are another. I have a busy life and too little time for nonsense, but I DO take time for the flowers.
Your comment in your post about no one taking the time to read a post that was longer than 4 lines ...... I am the opposite. I only read the longer ones, as I respect someone who has bothered to learn the art of a post, and if it's just a "quickie" I will not give a comment, as I will not show respect for those.....
Have a great Easter!
I had to slow down and "sign in the rain", finally had a little rain after what seems like 4 weeks without precipitation. So now the flowers may grow.
Randy, Good idea to slow it down a bit. Take a few really deep breaths and enjoy all that is around us. Having a camera helps to slow me down to enjoy more of my surroundings. Now I just have to find time to post them. Remember screaming at the "slow" fax machine...why are we always in such a hurry?
