First Stop...Lender

Quite often I am asked where should the home buying begin. First stop should always be shopping for a lender. So much depends on credit scores these days you should knows yours automatically. Not just for home buying but for car insurance, car loans, credit cards and things that affect your everyday life. Some lenders will not only give you an idea of where you are in respect to credit but can help coach you to raise you scores to where you will pay less for your home, car, insurance and credit cards. Ask them how much a difference between where you are and with a little tweaking and it will amaze you how much money you have been giving away not knowing. Another tip would be to check with several lenders before deciding. Just because you bank there or know them does not make them the right match for you. Lenders are like stores and they have "sales" on loan products that may or may not fit your specific needs. The difference of only ten points in a credit score can add or subtract $50 per month off a house loan or be the difference of getting a home or not so get with a lender today and let them know when you will be looking and see how they can help you get more house for your money. Then come see me and I will help you find the right house for you.

Randy, Great advice to all potential buyers. Finding the home is easy and it would be a shame that the buyers could not get it because they were not Pre-Approved.

Great post ...well said and very good advice! Buyers always think they should go to their own bank and you are right that is not always the best place or fit for them! thanks!
