Taste of Mecosta 2010
Just returned from yet another successful Taste of Mecosta at the Holiday Inn here in Big Rapids, Mi. I think the food industry was well represented this year. Favorites like the Blue Cow Cafe served Sushi while some served decadent deserts. My wife loved the Cheesecake at the Falcon Head table and Ferris Dining Services had several tasty treats. For us the Best of Display would go to Kelly's Catering right here in town. They had an amazing setting of foods that surpassed all. There were over 20 tables serving hundreds of people so it was a bit crowded but Leadership Mecosta did a great job keeping a flow going. The Old Pioneer Emporium had fudge and popcorn that is always on our list, Pere Marquette Catering was a nice surprise. I hadn't had the pleasure of sampling theirs before and besides great food they also had a nice display. Bob Evans, Jimmy Johns and Buffalo Wild Wings were well represented as well as Applebee's, Bennigan's and Crankers Coney Island. As always Schuberg's Bar did a great job and the whole point is trying new things so we sampled a little of everything. Fat Tuesday will probably stay with me a few days and by Fat Friday I should be hungry again.
