Spring is in the air!
Looking out the window of my office I notice the snow is beginning to recede a little giving hopes that temperatures will be on the rise. After watching for a while I decided it would be beneficial to my business to check out the weather first hand. I absolutely love spring. Everything is all fresh and the buyers start getting cabin fever and start thinking of buying cottages. It is also a perfect time to do some tune up on the curb appeal. Before the foliage gets on it is easy to see what needs tended to in order to get the best curb appeal you can. Remember the first thing a buyer sees is the curb appeal and it sets the tone for the showing. If a buyer likes what they see outside they look at the whole showing with a positive frame of mind but if when they pull up they are unimpressed even if they do go in they will be looking for the worst case scenario inside too. Curb appeal fixes can be relatively inexpensive too. Just picking up debris, fallen branches and giving everything a tidying up can be the difference between selling and being a comp for the house that did sell.
Spring is also my favorite time of year to look for land. It is seeing everything without makeup. Once the leaves are on full even scrub brush looks good but before the leaves cover it up I like to walk the land parcels to see what they have to offer. I look forward to a great spring this year with the tax incentives winding down and a lot of people last year held off to see where the economy was going and now we have stabilized a bit may decide to buy this year. Take a few minutes to not only get some yard work in but enjoy the season and you will join me in my excitement to see Spring arrive.
