Mecosta County Band of Locals
Seems like everywhere you go these days there is a strong push to buy local. Here in Big Rapids and Mecosta County we have the Band of Locals Campaign. It truly amazes me how many discounts are available through the Band of Locals. Lake and Lodge Realty is a member as I do always try to buy local first. Here is a snippet right from the Chamber of Commerce Website:
The Buy Local
First phenomenon is gaining momentum in Mecosta County! In an effort to gain
market share for Mecosta County businesses and service providers, a group of
volunteers representing all areas in our county initiated the Band of Locals –
Buy Local First discount campaign.
The Band of Locals are blue wrist Bands embossed with Band of Locals on them and
are available to purchase for $10 at participating locally owned businesses and
the Mecosta County Area Chamber of Commerce. With no expiration date, the blue
Bands in return, allow you to receive discounted savings, etc at participating
businesses throughout Mecosta County to promote shop locally. Participating
businesses offering discounts and an opportunity to purchase bands is available
online at
www.bandoflocals.com. As the Band of Locals campaign grows, so will the
businesses participating so be sure to check online for monthly updates.

This is a great program with savings at nearly every store. If you happen to be downtown Big Rapids taking advantage of the savings stop by and say hi. We are in the back of the Schuberg Insurance Agency right on Michigan Avenue (Main St).
