Are you helping sell your listing?
Sounds silly, but are you? Sometimes list agents seem to almost block the sales of THEIR OWN listings. Case in point, I had a client looking for a certain price range and location. I found a few listings that fit and began trying to set them up. Just getting a hold of the list agent can be a challenge and some are almost rude that you bother them to get a lock box code. I had one that it took three tries to show the home and the list agent didn't have a lock box on the home. This house was 15 miles from anywhere. To show the home I would have to drive about 8 miles in the wrong direction to get a key from the Broker, drive back almost 20 miles to show the house and then another 20 to return the key to the Broker. How many times do you think I will show that house? We live in a somewhat rural area so we are faced with unplowed drives or snow covered porches but to ask an agent to drive 40 miles out of their way to show a house? Listing the home is only a part of representing it. I would think most would welcome help selling in today's market. I have in the past been guilty of picking on the part time agents but this is why. My only source of income is real estate so I must sell to survive. Some (NOT ALL) who have other jobs seem to list and wait for others to sell their listings while they continue to have another income stream so for them if it sells bonus, if not, no biggie. Please think of the agent showing your listings. Little things like shoveling a sidewalk or leaving cell numbers to set up showings can go a long ways towards helping sell. We are all in this together and the easier we make it on each other the better all our lives and sales will be.
